Current Fire Rules Per District 7


Recreational fires are currently allowed in unincorporated areas of Kittitas County provided you conform to the following rules:


1. Recreational fires, campfires, cook fires, etc. shall be no greater than 3' x 3' in diameter and no more than 2' in height
2. No recreational fires shall be located within 25 feet of any structure
3. Fire extinguishing equipment (i.e. buckets, shovels, water supply, heavy equipment etc) and a person capable of utilizing such equipment, shall be on site at all times while the fire is burning A person capable of utilizing fire extinguishing equipment shall be on site at all times


All other outdoor burning must conform to the following rules:

1. The burning of garbage is illegal
2. No open burning within 50 feet of any structure or combustible material
3. Pile size shall be no greater than 10' in diameter and no more than 10' in height
4. No open burning shall occur when wind speeds or gusts exceed 10 mph
5.  Fire extinguishing equipment (i.e. buckets, shovels, water supply, heavy equipment etc) and a person capable of utilizing such equipment, shall be on site at all times while the fire is burning A person capable of utilizing fire extinguishing equipment shall be on site at all times

During the dry summer months please use caution when burning.

When a burn ban is in place we expect all neighbors and visitors to adhere to burn ban restrictions.
